JANUARY

We are closed on New Year’s Day

We honor Martin Luther King Jr. through readings and crafts, remembering and honoring him.

Calling all grandparents: you are invited to come in and read a favorite story to your grandchild’s class. Stop by the office or call 201-523-9555 for more information (note: we sometimes hold this event in September).

New: Wacky Wednesdays All Year Long!!!!

Options: pajamas, superhero, princess, community worker, clothes on backwards, mismatched socks, crazy hair style, silly hat – almost anything goes!!!! Just make sure kids are comfortable, dressed appropriately for the weather and safe (no slippery shoes, please)

FEBRUARY

February 14

Happy Valentine’s Day, wear red / Dance Party for Kids: 4 to 5 p.m. (little ones up front, big kids in the gym). Every Valentine’s Day or the Friday before if it falls on a weekend.

Happy Chinese New Year! We celebrate with readings and crafts.

No School on President’s Day.

MARCH

We celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday, story time (we will read Dr. Seuss books of course). Be as silly as some of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters wear a silly hat, mismatched socks or clothes on backwards. We supply the books and the oatmeal cookies and milk!

When it is St. Patrick’s Day, wear green and watch out for the silly leprechaun!!

APRIL

Every day this month is Earth Day

Think Green: Let’s recycle, compost and plant

MAY

We honor our hardworking moms on Mother’s Day. All invited to an event, day and time to be announced.

No School on Memorial Day

JUNE

Calling all hardworking dads. Fathers invited to an event, day and time to be announced.

Water Play Fun starts at the end of June

The actual date to be announced based on the weather.* Nature Zone Gardening all month long through August.

JULY

We are closed on the Fourth of July. Wear red, white and blue, the day before.

AUGUST

Children’s Day Carnival

A Whole Day of Fun and Festivities with Games made mostly by our children.

Still looking for preschool for your 2 -5 year old this fall? Need a daycare for your baby? Evelyn Street Day School has available spots in our 3, 4, and 5-day options. Our students benefit from our top-notch hands-on curriculum and enrichment classes. Come and inquire about our successful reading program.
We are conducting in-person Registration/Enrollment on Saturday, August 24 from 10am-12pm. Come to our Back to School Open House, tour our facility, and learn about our program. Savings will be available for those who sign up during the event. Bring a friend who enrolls within 2 weeks and you will receive a referral discount. SEPTEMBER

We are closed on Labor Day.

We will have our “Back to School” Potluck on the 6th of September. Families and friends are welcome.

OCTOBER

Halloween Parade

Families are invited to dress up, too! Our parade will take place in our backyard weather permitting (to be held indoors if it rains).

Every year’s challenge: Make your own costume!! Date and time to be announced.

NOVEMBER

Thanksgiving Treats for the children at morning and afternoon snack time and after lunch (all day long!)
